Hollywood Book Review

Bell-Eye’s Palm Beach, Florida Christmas is a short, fun mystery about a small dog who solves big problems among socialites in Palm Beach, Florida. Bell-Eye’s Palm Beach, Florida Christmas is a delightful book that will make readers laugh. This book focuses on Bella, the prize pooch of an heiress, India Hays. The dog solves mysteries with the help of his assistant, Winston Beaumont, another dog that belongs to a wealthy family in Palm Beach. When the dogs learn of Shelly Ramirez selling fake designer jewelry around the holidays, they spring into action to stop the felony-while jet setting on private planes.

Bell-Eye’s Palm Beach, Florida Christmas is a fun read that showcases Hays’ creativity. His writing is amusing and even manages to make dogs multidimensional characters. Bella is a sensible and astute dog that can sense trouble and has a great sense of morality. Bella fights to solve mysteries even through harrowing brushes with danger. Winston is a loyal assistant that helps Bella solve mysteries with aplomb. The human characters are also fascinating, with the rich and powerful India being a perfect spoiled heiress with her Harry Winston jewels and Ferragamo shoes. Shelly is the perfect antagonist in the novel, with a villainous attitude throughout the book.

Palm Beach is a character all of it’s own in this entertaining story. The Florida playground of the rich and famous is shown in all its palm-treed glory through Hays’ writing. The description of Palm Beach and its glamorous beaches and mansions make the city the perfect setting for this story. Hays has spent years in Palm Beach and it shows through his writing about the town.

Bell-Eye’s Palm Beach, Florida Christmas would be best for readers who love cozy dog mysteries, like Let Sleeping Dogs Lie by Rita Mae Brown and Krista Davis’ Domestic Divas miniseries. Even though the book is part of a series, readers can dive into this book and not be lost. The novel would also be ideal for readers who like cozy light mysteries that are a good quick read. Additionally, this book would be perfect for book clubs or mystery of the month clubs, too.

Bell-Eye’s Palm Beach, Florida Christmas is a novel that will make readers smile and would make a great beach read. Fans of cute dog mysteries should check out the adventures of a brave four-legged detective.
