Author K.A. White’s non-fiction work, Accidental Blessing, offers deep spiritual insight as well as powerful inspiration, with a winning narrative which traces her journey directly into the very heart of faith, grace, devotion, and healing, through “accidental blessings.”
Offering powerful food for thought for the spiritual-minded or inclined, the story follows the tumultuous life journey of Ann White, which at times exemplifies God’s work in her life. Initially, life started out great for the happy and proud, soon to be college graduate. With just a few exams left, she was enjoying her last hurrahs with college life, reminiscing with her friends, recalling the fun and adventure, and enjoying the beautiful campus which was far more clean and more peaceful than the city environment she soon would-be steeped in. Earnest in her efforts and studies she looks forward to becoming a young professional with everything great in life in front of her, until her life took a very serious turn for the worse or so it would seem, starting with a strange incident concerning her college I.D. going missing right when she needed it the most, during exams.
While albeit the resilient Ann was able to solve and resolve the mystery of her missing ID and even learned a lesson of forgiveness through the event, she continued to experience seriously unhealthy and disheartening events in her life, the primary event being a battle to come back from Bell’s Palsy, which caused her to experience further traumatic experiences such as almost being unable to complete school and being subject to people’s aversion to her new appearance. While some were loving, thoughtful, and supportive, others were mean-spirited and belittling. Needless to say, this was a great deal for a young woman to go through at that time in her life.
Meanwhile, events take a turn for the worse and the truly spiritually mysterious as the tragedy does not stop there. Ann overcomes the obstacles of her bout with palsy, bravely moves on with her life and miraculously obtains an administrative job during which her once healthy body, seems to begin to mysteriously degrade into a state of near-death. With no answers to her health dilemma readily available from the medical community Ann has nothing but her faith and trust in God to carry her through.
In total perspective, Accidental Blessing by the author K. A. White was a blessing to read. I thoroughly enjoyed this narrative, which was well written, eloquently presented, and fraught with obvious spiritual fortitude and strong spiritual lessons experienced by the courageous yet vulnerable Ann, whose faith and strength of character was truly inspiring. In fact, I feel this book would make an excellent movie, with this story that serves well to inspire maintaining faith even when you struggle to understand God’s intentions for your life. Overall, this is definitely, a great book for those looking for a stimulating spiritually-based read.
