Embracing Love’s Healing Touch follows two characters who do just that for each other. In this heartwarming romance novel once exes Rebecca and David cross paths again at the scene of a car accident. They dated in college but shortly went on their separate ways. David married the next girl he dated while Rebecca’s heart was hurt seemingly beyond repair. Though their hearts are both pained and broken – neither of them can ignore the spark reignited by their chance encounter. David tries as hard as he can, but his father reminds him only hours after the accident than his daughters need a young woman’s love and care just as much as he does. His heartaches for his late wife – but his father’s words ring true for him.
Rebecca’s heartbreak is quite different. She throws herself into her work as a nurse and into her painting. She lives lone and keeps to herself. Those who know her story know that she is sad – but it is evident that she longs to feel happiness again. She yearns for restored faith, however like David – she is hesitant to open her heart to someone again.
As this story progresses a small spark of love blossoms. New relationships form – not only between Rebecca and David but their respective friends and families as well. David’s daughters warm up to her. Both of their parents are thrilled to see their children so happy and so in love.
It is refreshing to read a book where faith is an important aspect of every character. Even David’s young girls are shown praying to God. Though in their heart break David and Rebecca find themselves distant from God – their love and their faith grow as their relationship progresses.
Author Robert Stirling’s storytelling brings readers to a simple, small town in the countryside. His characters hold American ideals and do what is right. While their hearts are bleeding – Rebecca and David are honest people, with strong morals and values. Throughout the book we see the characters become the best versions of themselves, not only because they have each other but they can fully embrace their faith as well.
What I enjoyed about this book is that once the characters push past their fear of heart break and let go of their past – they are able to embrace hope for the future. They are excited and share goals and dreams. Rebecca finally learns about true love and it seems that all is restored now that they are together. The story is wonderfully written, the pages flow by quickly. “Embracing Love’s Healing Touch,” is a must read!
