Hollywood Book Review

Herb was just a maintenance man working late at night in a theatre.  As he was turning off the lights to close up, something caught his eye under a tarp.  When we went to investigate, vampire bats attacked him.  Herb isn’t a man to go down without a fight, he bit back and surprisingly absorbed their powers and sacred blood.  Through it all Herb became friends with the bat, who teaches him how to be a vampire.  Herb now must prepare himself for an army of other monsters intent on retaking the ancient blood he had consumed.  Through telepathic means, they know who and where he is, and they are coming for him. As he continues his job, he turns a few of his most trusted friends and co-workers into creatures like himself.  Together they prepare for the dangers they face.  Not only is an angry monster mob after them, but also a bat plague is sweeping the land leaving only death and destruction.  Will they survive or will the other creatures seek their revenge?

H.F. Galloway writes a story that hooks the reader into the narriative right from the beginning.  Galloway has a captivating way of telling Herb’s story so readers will want to continue reading – just to find out what will happen to him and his trusted friends.  This is a novel that is very easy to read and isn’t stuffed with “filler” type information.  Galloway tells the story, and just the story – which makes Theatre of the Vampires very entertaining and quick to read.  This is perfect for some who are busy with only a few moments to read.  While the story is very descriptive, it is not too overwhelming.  Readers get the right amount of set-up for characters and overall plot development.
