Call to Him Before the Throne is a collection of poetry inspired mainly by the life and love of our Savior Jesus Christ. It talks of the mightiness of his ways and how He is the path to redemption. It is a call to finding and accepting His way. The book also takes time to honor everyone from honest politicians, to friends, and spouses. It was an uplifting collection of well phrased verses that will make one feel not only grateful, but also thoughtful and reflective at the same time.
It is apparent author has a love and strong belief in Christ and wants to share that with the world. While a topic within a book mainly about Christ and coming unto Him, which could fill so many pages on its own, there were several different topics relevant to today’s world. 9-11, political leaders, and lasting relationships were all approached. While some of my opinions may not necessarily line up with all that the author wrote, I was able to see his point of view and not feel pressure while reading the overall message. In the words you can see the true and pure conviction of the author and poet Roger Lee Daub.
I have a wide breath of enjoyment when it comes to poetry, and I found the verses to be compelling. The stanzas were easy to read and told a beautiful story. Since this was the poetry I knew as a child, I found comfort in within the verses that rhyme. The author does a respectable job in setting a cadence and rhythm to his words. To rhyme and still tell be able to tell a story that doesn’t feel awkward is an exceptional ability. Overall, I would recommend this book to others, if only to read one poem every so often for inspiration and guidance.
Call to Him Before the Throne is a wonderful collection for all faith-based readers, as well as those seeking to enhance their depth in faith, providing a reflection of the power of prayer and offering a comforting zone for pensive moments for individual spiritual growth.
