This is the third book in Tony Stanford’s ‘Suicide Affairs’ series, and it only gets better. I must admit the author knows how to capture the readers’ attention with his writing and the details in the stories he narrates. The first book in the series was good, the second was even more compelling, and this will make readers ask for yet still another book. Tony’s characters remain to be as fascinating in this book; resilient, concentrated, diverse, with extra traits, and even absurd. As you connect with the author’s writing, you are able to connect with the characters. The tales are pleasant and easy to follow. There is nothing like lethargy when you read Tony Stanford’s work. Every chapter and every page will have you wishing for more.

Three things are constant in Tony Stanford’s work: distinctive storylines, appealing grammar and the author’s engaging nature. Rita Pierce remains a force to be reckoned with in the third book. You will read about other characters but still be enticed by Rita Pierce. She is a little bit older in book three. Her mind has expanded to some extent; her perspective has shifted, but you know what they say about old habits: they die hard. Rita is blossoming as this young woman. You can almost feel her growth physically and mentally.

Now Rita, knowing that she comes from a somewhat dark place, chooses to create a destiny which she feels suits her. Fate may not have everything aligned for her, but Rita knows what she wants at the moment. She will go the extra mile and even engage in things that leave the reader in awe. My most entertaining tale about Rita was when she set free Deysi Black’s book. This was no regular book as it required one to follow a particular style to read it. Rita, however, did not pay any mind to that and did what her heart desired. This book had intriguing content, and one could even say it had a life of its own away from the characters. Deysi Black was a witch who bore babies to be sacrificed to feed shadows and use black magic. Rita had taken the Black book from Johnny, another exciting character,

The thing about Tony Stanford is that you enjoy reading everything about his female characters. Julia Brooks, Valerie and Jenny Yorks are other characters that whether they did good or bad, were a delight to follow. There is something new you learn about Tony Stanford’s characters with every new mini-story. River Dawg is another excellent character with whom the reader might have a complex relationship.

In all three books, the reader is offered something extra. I have to applaud the author for making every one of the books pleasurable to read. ‘Thunder’ elicits emotions of shock, rumble, and excitement paired with dread. I recommend this book-to-book series to reading lovers, especially readers who like immersing themselves in dark fantasy, drama, and engaging stories.
