Synopsis
Shala is a beautiful, mysterious girl. She has long black hair and brilliant green eyes that look like shiny emeralds. She learns to love and appreciate Yantox, the man who found her and became a father to her. However, she still has no idea who she really is or where she has come from. She tries to get answers, but it causes Yantox horrendous pain. So, she sets out on her own while serving Matea for year.
The forest around the village has a mysterious curse that lures and traps humans there after dusk. Shala, in her journey to find answers, is caught in the forest where she trapped between time. While there, she meets characters that see her in a different light. She also discovers that she has a special gift that will guide her to safety. In her journey, she finds out who she is and where she belongs.
Author Bio
Micki Mongogna-Alarcon was born in Michigan in 1947 and raised in Illinois. She now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. She spent her early adult life as a naval nurse stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes during the Vietnam conflict. She was a nurse educator at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), where she obtained her professorship. She retired in 2017.
Alarcon has a Master of Arts in Negotiation and Conflict Management and a Master of Science in Nursing Education. She taught mental health nursing and professional topics online at CSN. She was awarded Strathmore’s Who’s Who Professional of the Year for 2013 in Nursing Education. She published her first book, Micki’s Menagerie, in October 2013. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and watching movies, especially science fiction and fantasy.
