The story immediately introduces you to the planet of Clarion which is formatted in a way reminiscent of Earth. Entering the planet of Clarion feels like stepping into a utopia with a world that reflects our own but with an approach to unity that has created peace. The planet is ruled by two kings with King Delpha and Queen Sephta on one side, and King Tucha and Queen Stephanie on the backside of the planet. The rulers are peaceful, compassionate, and strive to maintain their united front which creates a hopeful example of what Earth could be. They showcase a better way to live for the human race in their struggle to co-exist and strive to help other planets achieve the same unity they have. The unity they have coincides with the importance of learning and the knowledge gleaned from studying the ruins on the planet that ties to the Earth’s origins.
The plot has a suspenseful element which is drawn from the arrival of the Palagonions, who have a reputation for causing trouble. Their appearance is met with immediate suspicion, which adds a layer of mystery to their actions such as landing in an isolated area away from town. As the story progresses, a deeper conspiracy lurks in the background that threatens to rattle the peace on this planet. Different planets are mentioned that help facilitates the science fiction atmosphere such as Polara and Triton. Science fiction advancements add layers into the setting with basic devices such as Galactic Mobile and more extravagant ones such as the fountain of youth.
