In author Jean Murray Munden’s Come Fill Up My Cup, the author takes readers on an emotionally charged journey of love and loss. Two widowers meet one another in the country of Scotland, and find themselves drawn to one another as they each understand the pain they’ve endured. Yet their blooming romance is not without complications, as the pain of their pasts comes calling and soon a violent encounter leads to a modern-day murder, causing the new lovers facing a shocking discovery.
This was an evenly-paced, emotional novel. The author does a great job of setting up a complex romance, not only showcasing the whirlwind element of their first meeting and falling for one another as they deal with their own painful pasts, but the exploration of those pasts makes for a unique character study of the protagonists as the narrative progresses.
This is a book for those who enjoy romance, international love stories, mysteries and suspenseful tales involving murder. As a fan of those genres, it was easy to get into the narrative and connect with the characters, especially when getting into their complex histories and dramas.
This is a must-read romantic suspense novel of the summer. Author Jean Murray Munden’s Come Fill Up My Cup is a truly entertaining and a passionate roller-coaster of a tale. Readers will immediately be drawn into the complex narrative which comes as each character’s history is thoroughly explored. If you like tales like Outlander, Melanie Murphy’s If Only and The Crown, then you will not want to miss this amazing mixture of family drama, high society and romance.
