Henry David Thoreau once said, “It is what a man thinks of himself that really determines his fate.” In author Richard Chamberlain’s book titled “Echoes Through Time: A Harvester Adventure Series”, the concept of fate comes heavily into play as a young man is chosen to take a one way trip into the cosmos, and discovers that his mission is something humanity has been anticipating for a very long time.

In the book, humanity discovers a message sent to them by another civilization from the stars, warning them not to travel beyond their solar system or face judgement. The message leads world leaders and scientists to search the past, present and future for one young man, who they believe is destined to play a role in the events that led to this message being delivered. Trained for years after being discovered, this young man is sent on a dangerous mission into the center of the universe, and must discover the truth behind the message and holds the fate of humanity in his hands.

This was wonderfully written, as the author delved deep into the science fiction genre to showcase a detailed account of scientific theories and possibilities. From time-travel and paradoxes to knowledge of black holes, quantum physics and dark matter (all things that are being further explored and understood each day in our current world), the author brings a level of authenticity and realness to the sci-fi genre that rarely gets seen to this degree.

Anyone who enjoys the sci-fi genre and grand scale adventure stories will absolutely love this book. As a fan of the sci-fi genre and exploring scientific possibilities myself, it was fascinating to see the author delve into such great detail and lengths to explore the possibilities of time dilations, paradoxes and the way black holes really work overall within an action-fueled, thriller of a sci-fi story.

Overall this is a fantastic read that many fans of the sci-fi genre will love. While the writing did have a few instances of grammatical errors that some eagle eyed fans will notice, the overall plot and character development between the main cast of characters overshadow these few instances greatly. The story is so engaging that readers will be on the edge of their seat as the book ends, and will leave readers wanting more from this growing series.
