“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in Heaven, for, in the same way, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” – Mat 5:10-12.
End-Time Living: Despite Conflict and Hardship, All is Well is an inspiring and encouraging book by author David S. Heeren which focuses on the events leading to the end times and the Final Judgement.
The text is divided into eight well-arranged chapters which explore a variety of themes. These include discussing Theologian Shaeffer’s viewpoint on the US, placing trust in a trustworthy God, moral dissipation, standing firm and fearless in times of calamities, the need to pray for America, preparing for the Second Coming of Christ, and staying watchful while discerning the times. The author discusses signs of the end times and presents facts based on the Bible, historical and current happenings on earth.
The book further affirms that Jesus requires everyone to stand strong, even in the face of persecution, especially in these end times. Great is the reward for those who persevere till the end. Mr. Heeren also advises against the doctrine of false prophets which Jesus and the apostles warned about. He emphasizes the need to hold on to Jesus and trust in Him to avoid being deceived. God is just, wills that His people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Hence, the last days will present an opportunity for the entire remnant of human beings to accept the eternal salvation that God offers.
There is much to love about this book. I was deeply fascinated with how the author related current events with the preaching of Jesus and the writings of the apostles. His tone is warm and sincere, rather than condescending and authoritative, thus encouraging readers to live a righteous life in preparation for the Lord’s coming. End- Time Living draws salutary lessons from history making readers more aware and watchful of the present and the future happenings. The text is not sectarian hence will resonate with many readers.
I found the writing style to be superb. The writer gives accounts of his life as a media personality from time to time and focuses on some of the injustices he observed in the game of politics. The language used is easy to understand and the pace is perfect. David S. Heeren is undoubtedly well-versed with the Bible and did not disappoint. He certainly took his time weaving the tapestry of this riveting publication.
End-Time Living: Despite Conflict and Hardship, All is Well is a valuable, professionally edited resource for anyone seeking to learn more about eschatology. It is definitely worth the time.
