At the start of the novel, Trevor works in cybersecurity and his best friend, Jason, works in security. The two met in college and became fast friends, the type who had an instant connection which just never burned out. Now, Trevor’s dream is to work in the law enforcement industry, preferably involving espionage. So, when he meets a man named Christopher at a dog park and instantly feels a pull towards him, he learns soon after that Christopher is concerned about illegal activities occurring where he works at the museum. Unfortunately, he later turns up dead, and it is up to Trevor to find out what happened to this man and ultimately bring his killer to justice. This leads him to Quantico where he trains for the FBI. Once the DEA, FBI, and local authorities get involved, they set out on their journey to bring down the illegal drug operation they believe Christopher caught wind of. Each and every day that passes, they worry the ones responsible not only for his death, but for this huge drug operation, are slipping from their grasp. This makes them realize they must set up a sting to take the crime boss down – once and for all.
