‘To hope is spiritual, to achieve is human, to understand is personal, and to have is physical.’ The author has written first-hand accounts of his life, his desire to know God, His will for humankind, and to find his soulmate. He shares his revelations with readers, his visions and dreams of embodiment and psychic revelations. On one particular day, the author narrates how he was lifted from the earth, taken to Venus, and given a tour by terrestrial beings inhabiting the planet. Author Robert Maxim believes that life is pluralistic, universal, and associatively restrictive and humans lived while consumed by fear of death. He writes in his introductory chapters that his purpose for writing the book is to convey the importance of telling the lower self and higher essences apart which constitutes the search for love.
These philosophical thoughts serve as the basis of the storyline of Legacy Episode 1: The Search for Love. The author uses the first-person narration by military geologist, Sergeant Sullivan who is on a mission on Mars. The year is 2058. He comes into contact with Martians and a friendship blossoms. While there, he falls in love with a Martian woman who is equally smitten with him although he does not realize that she is his true soulmate. Cosmic beings and Martians are willing to enlighten earth on new technological advancements but greedy and selfish politicians create a setback since they are only interested in technology but not social change. This is a story of a man’s journey to overcome his fears, his weaknesses, confronting his dark past while pursuing true love.
The author highlights advanced scientific and spiritual concepts written in lyrical romantic prose. Legacy: Episode 1, The Search for Love is powerfully written as the main character searches through the vastness of his loved one. Robert Maxxim creates a picturesque of what Martian underground cities look like. I loved how the author made it easy for readers to have an idea about cosmic beings and aliens, how they live, what they believe and the relationship they share with humans.
Author Robert Maxxim found ways to detail his intricate beliefs throughout the narrative. This made the plot a bit confusing and slow-paced but luckily, his narration ability helped stabilize the effect and gave the story footing. I would recommend this novel to lovers of science fiction and fans of spiritual philosophies such as reincarnation and astrology.
