One of the harshest realities most Americans have to face in this day and age is the fact racism and violence still go hand in hand throughout the country. There have been thousands of protests speaking out against the injustices surrounding young black people being killed in police brutality cases, and swarms of support people have been giving to these causes. Yet, it is often overshadowed by the overwhelming hate that white supremacist and racist groups still promote. The need to find a peaceful and hopeful solution is one of our century’s greatest struggles.

In author Tchinda Fabrice Mbuna’s Mrs. Angel: The Evil Behind the Law – Volume 2, the author brings back protagonists Mr. Tchinda and Mrs. Angel, returned from their honeymoon to discover a nation in chaos. As more violence against black and Asian communities rise in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movements, the couple decides to travel to “the underworld.” They received advice and counsel of civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks, along with Gandhi and more, to find the means of solving the chaos which is engulfing America. Soon during their adventures, Mrs. Angel receives a prophecy of her rise to America’s first Female President, and she must battle her political opponent Jim Crow to overturn the racial system and gain equality for all. Her husband, Mrs. Tchinda, also organizes a march on Washington to not only protest but clear the way for his wife’s rise to power.

The author has written another compelling and captivating read. The unique writing style of the author’s work is what stuck out to this reader first, as the blend is a play of sorts, being used as the narrative design. The use of poetry in the dialogue delivery makes this a unique composition and story. There’re moral and philosophical discussions in which the narrative brings to mind, which are thought-provoking. The balance the author found in the subtle, yet impactful emotions between Mrs. Angel and Mr. Tchinda, along with the grander thoughtful moments in meeting with these historical figures, made this a gripping and memorable genre fiction meets education and philosophical read.

This is the perfect read for anyone who enjoys a good blend of non-fiction and fiction elements in a story, particularly those who enjoy writing styles which emulate playwriting, poetry, and fictional writing styles. The use of satire and wit in the author’s writing and dialogue, especially in the final pages of the book, will highlight and demonstrate the systematic use of racism and oppression within the fibers of the American Government and institution as a whole. We need to end the old ways to move forward and embrace one another as equals once more.

Insightful, engaging, and memorable, author Tchinda Fabrice Mbuna’s Mrs. Angel: The Evil Behind the Law – Volume 2 is a must-read satire play-meets-fiction genre and educational novel. The abstract narrative between the main cast of characters and the historical figures, along with the shocking twists and turns in the character development, growth and the powerful imagery the author instills in the reader as the story progresses, made this a truly compelling novel.
