One of the greatest benefits of action-fiction novels is that there is no end to the possibilities. This sets the stage for deep character building and a never-ending deluge of stories. The only problem is that since it is so easy, it is a populated genre that requires a truly unique story to breakthrough. pINPOINt: Intelligence Criminal Police Organization, by author Dakota R. Peterson may be just what the genre ordered.

pINPOINt follows a group of characters who work for, or are related to people who work for, the crime-stopping organization. This group is similar to other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, or CIA, but a separate entity. Gudmund Thoresen leads the agency and has a personal stake in it as some of his family has been killed by pINPOINt’s most wanted fugitives. Now he is hot on their trail, but the person pulling strings may not be who Gudmund thinks. It is a cat and mouse tale with multiple red herrings which will keep your interest.

Interestingly, the thing author Dakota R. Peterson does exceptionally well is character detail. Not only do the characters get bios complete with skills, but they even get a cartoon drawing.

As a story, there is plenty to like about this book. There is action, mystery, and a few surprises along the way to keep the readers on their toes. However, the number of characters in this book can sometimes be a bit much, and readers may find it challenging to keep them in order.

This is a spy novel at its heart, and people who love this genre will likely find aspects to like about the story. The great thing about this idea is that pINPOINt books can continue to be made as long as Dakota R. Peterson has ideas for them. With a little more time, there is no doubt this could become a popular books series for teens and adults.
