Every believer lives hoping to meet their creator after death. Christianity commands that one leads a righteous life, praising God and trusting in him no matter the situation you are in. The subject of end times is widely discussed by believers, as they anticipate the second coming of Christ. As a Christian, you are supposed to look out for signs of the end times, repent and be ready for the coming of the savior. In his book Signs of the Times in 2020: The Beginning of Sorrows, author Joe Irizarry discusses in depth signs of the end times and the responsibility that believers have in relation to preparation of the second coming of Christ. Joe Irizarry draws his inspiration from biblical stories, prophets in the bible and his experiences.
Signs of the Times in 2020: The Beginning of Sorrows has 12 chapters, with each chapter focusing on significant occurrences in the Bible and the impact various personalities have. In the first chapter, the author draws comparisons from the days of Noah. I would recommend this chapter to every Christian that had questions about floods during the days of Noah, and why learning about the story is crucial in one’s journey of faith. What I adored about Joe Irizarry’s style of writing is that he does not leave the reader hanging. He discusses every story in the Bible comprehensively and even shares a few references. The story about Noah has a huge significance on Christians and that is why the author made it the first chapter – before delving into other discussions.
Bible verses and scriptures are shared throughout the book. When the author wants to talk about a particular subject, he includes Bible verses for better comprehension. Every verse has a lesson that Christians should learn about. While reading this book, I learned more about the person that is Jesus Christ through the Bible verses shared by the author. The scriptures also make a good reference, especially for readers which would want to further their reading of the Bible. I appreciate the author for selecting key verses which will not only help the reader relate with his content more, but also help believers connect more with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
By the end of the reading, the reader gets to learn there is nothing to be fearful about end times. The most important thing is for one to live according to God’s will. The thought of burning in hell for sins committed while on Earth should encourage believers to repent as often as they can. The author writes about today’s society, and how human beings are sometimes inconsiderate. Reading this book will make you be kinder to others, get you to spiritually connect with your maker, and have you lead a rewarding life. The author is humble in his writing, and gives believers assurance that despite all the wicked things happening in the world, God will look out for you and protect you during the end times.
