Hollywood Book Reviews

This is the second book in the series, and it gets even more interesting than the first. Get ready to live in the 1960s and ‘70s as you follow the lives of amazing and sometimes disturbed characters. Author Tony Stanford did not lose his element in this book. He made the stories as entertaining as the previous book and maintained the remarkable writing style. Readers get to enjoy the stories better knowing the author’s technique. I appreciate the level of consistency when it comes to delightful themes and topics and how enchanting the plots turn out. Suicide Affair – Book Two: Storm Clouds is like that grand meal that you wish to eat day in and day out. The quality of the stories is sky-high, the author’s creativity is incredible and the flow of the tales is out of this world.

We are back in the 1960s and ‘70s, and are following the lives of these eccentric people, one of them being Rita. She is a disturbed girl, and for good reason. If you are familiar with such characters, you are not too quick to judge, as you know that circumstances make or break a being. Rita’s father is still the villain he was. He has these wild thoughts about his daughter; labels her with weird names and even feels like her conception should not have happened. It is impossible to imagine that a father can have such filthy views about an offspring he sired. Given his background, however, the reader can reconcile with his traits and even sometimes cut the character slack.

The book is divided into three parts, and the reader moves from 1969 to 1970 and then to 1971. Each of these years has a different touch to them: exciting stories, unbelievable characters, awesome storylines and massive lessons for the reader. The author covers many subtopics in the stories. Topics including black magic, family, betrayal,  femininity, love and lust, power, passion, and fear, are some of the major topics and themes. I like how individual the stories feel, but one gets the link in all of them at the end of threading. Every character, starting from Rita, is extraordinary. Major characters know how to take the spot while the minor character makes the perfect complement.

I have to give it to Tony Stanford for being an engaging author. Even in the world of fiction, you feel some realness in the text. The author’s writing skills are above par, and his way of describing events, people, places and occurrences is out of this world. Some parts of the book felt like virtual storytelling sessions, which were on a loop. A good story is one which leaves you with anticipation and the desire to read more. Every story told in the book had the two features above.

I recommend Suicide Affair – Book Two: Storm Clouds to every reader who wants to gift themselves a good fiction book. The writing is amazing, the grammar perfect and the diction suitable for readers of all levels.
