Up, Up, And Away (Naked Into Truth) by author Liz Mitten Ryan recalls the story of her life – starting with her childhood. Liz had a great deal of spiritual understanding even as a young teenager, but her connection with God and spirits grew as she became older and continued navigating through life. She had always imagined living in the Gibson’s on a farm with 6 kids and lots of animals. This vision came to fruition eventually – but not without marrying twice and swearing men off completely before meeting the love of her life and combining her family with his.
Liz’s writing is a delight to read – it feels like talking to a very interesting relative. Her storytelling is bright and fun – she remains optimistic and powerful even in the direst of situations. She uses her talents to her advantage and makes quite a name and fortune for herself as an artist. As the book pages on, her recollections of visions and spirits grow more frequent. She is very focused on staying in her truth and following her intuition.
The author’s life story can be an inspiration to many who feel lost and hopeless in the world. Liz is the opposite of these things; she finds a solution for everything and seems to be constantly laughing about something. I loved visualizing her life story come alive with each chapter. The cast of characters in her life are quite lively as well, and she certainly has a knack for describing people well. She shares countless funny and joyful memories of her siblings, cousins, parents and other family members. She had a wonderful childhood and enjoys the fruits of a successful adulthood as well.
I recommend this book to all who enjoys reading about other people. She describes very vividly her visions and meditations, her story would appeal to other psychics, mediums, and life-energy readers. Those who may not be gifted in this way should also enjoy reading her life story and may even learn something from Liz. She was a very successful wildlife artist and her chapter about her adult life includes a variety of accolades she received as an artist. Her success opened my eyes that truly anything is possible – she started small and very quickly became well known in her community and finally the environmental conservation community as well. This is a woman who had six kids, a farm full of animals – and still was able to hold true to her own dreams, goals, and desires.
