What Is Truth? Finding Truth in a Lost World explores many of the questions that Christians have been asked for years. Should you be a Christian yourself, you may have experienced these questions, possibly when trying to share your faith with others. On the other hand, you might not be a Christian, perhaps because you’re on the fence about whether God exists or not. Whatever the case may be, this book is worth reading, as the author, T Hakanson, seeks to answer those questions many of us have been hearing or asking during our lifetimes.
Does God exist? And if He does exist, how does He allow suffering? If we are to believe in the existence of God, does that mean Jesus is His son? If we refuse to follow God, does that mean we’re going to Hell? Does Hell even exist? Or is it a concept that church preachers and Sunday School teachers have gotten wrong? These are just a few of the questions the author raises in his book. He also deals with topics you may not have considered before, such as the possible existence of there being 3 Heavens (or possibly more). This latter concept was certainly new to me and I’m guessing it might be new to others too, no matter how long they have been a Christian.
As Hakanson is a Christian himself, you might assume he’s biased when giving his answers. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. While he does use the Bible in support of his defense of the existence of God, etc., he also uses logical thought and sensible reasoning. This makes the book approachable to all readers, especially for non-Christians, who wouldn’t necessarily accept verses taken from the Bible as answers to the questions they may have been grappling with.
Hakanson has a clear and well-constructed writing style which makes the book easy to read. While it does tackle complicated themes, the individual chapters never become too heavy. This is because the author breaks down his ideas into easy-to-digest statements and occasional diagrams that don’t require a theology degree to understand. As such, the book is ideal for any Christian who seeks to share and defend their faith, be they an ordained minister, youth worker, Sunday School teacher, or a layperson sharing their faith with friends, family members and neighbors. The book’s ease-of-use also makes it accessible to non-Christians or ‘not yet Christians’ who have questions about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and other faith topics, to which they don’t yet have a reasonably acceptable answer.
Many of us know of the existence of God through personal experience of miracles, Holy Spirit encounters, or evidence taken from the testimony of others. But not all of us know how to put our belief in God into words. Hakanson’s new book will definitely help you to share your faith, while also answering those questions that are burning within you. What Is Truth? Finding Truth in a Lost World is a recommended read with wherever you are on your faith journey.
